I love the idea of having my kids play charades. I would have never thought of that for them (they are 4 & 5), but I guess they are probably not too young.
My kids pretty much take any game and make it into something else.

Thanks for the shout out BMF! I love charades. The best part is that my Hungry Boy -- who looovvveeess to talk -- seriously cannot keep his mouth shut while playing. It's hysterical to watch. The little kids really show their true colors when they play charades. It's great!

Ditto on the weather in Cleveland,Ohio. Usually, I just have my 3 year old, but this is day 3 of having my 6 year old home from school as well. His fever only surfaces in the evening, so he's "fine" in the day. Oh, and we only have one car which my husband needs to get to work.

Anyway, I thought of an idea which is working at this very moment!!! Both my boys love their stuffed animals and sometimes name them and come up with stories about them. Today I gave them a challenge to write each animal's name and age on small cards and tie them onto each animal.

I had given them scrap paper from our over abundant supply with holes punched out as well as string for them to cut and a piece of guide string for a suggestion of length.

After they are done or tired of this part, I will have them put the animals in order from youngest to oldest. My six year old can do math problems as to how much older or younger one animal is than another one. So far this has consumed 1 hour of time as well as practiced fine motor, writing and collaboration skills.
