Sadly, I've had to accept that the bean is pretty much done with napping. The bright side (I'm trying to focus on the positive people) is that she's out like a light at 7pm. The dark, gloomy, evil side (okay, positive thinking aint really working for me) is that our afternoons are now twice as long- eek! On top of that it's friz-eezing out there AND I'm totally sleep deprived thanks to my new little babe! So... we've been pretty housebound most afternoons, which has forced me to dig deep into the well for entertaining the bean.
Yesterday we whipped up some goop and it was a BIG hit! Goop is like a softer version of playdough with a twist: once the simple ingredients are mixed together the resulting "goop" miraculously behaves both like a liquid and like a solid. Check this out by scooping some up with a spoon or your hand and pouring it into a second dish.
To make your goop all you need is water and cornstarch (food coloring is an optional add-on)- simple and non-toxic. Mix a little of the two ingredients together until the mixture is not powdery, but slimy. Click here or here for more recipe specifics.
Bonus: It's fun to say "goop" and "goopy".
