It takes a lot of work for teachers to plan and organize trip experiences that will be meaningful and interesting to their students. I'm sure it's the same for you parents out there. You organize a fabulous family excursion to a museum, the beach or to take a hike. Everyone has a great time and bonds. And then, as soon as you get home, you're busy with dinner, bath time and other "must-dos". Why not use those few minutes while you're making dinner or unloading the dishwasher to help your tot reflect on where they've been and what they've done during the day.

Wherever your child might be on their road to writing, they can put pen to paper and record some aspect of their experience. They could simply draw a picture and add some labels or write more of a narrative. Whatever they do, this way they've had a chance to process what they've seen, you have a moment to breathe and your memories are documented. Excellent!
