Here's a wonderful idea to get the alphabetic juices flowing and reuse some of those old catalogues, magazines or newspapers lying around waiting to be recycled. Hand one over to your tot and send them on a hunt. For some it can be as simple as a letter hunt, "Find all the words that start with n". Even better, have 'em look for words that start with the first letter of their name (remember, anything centered around them is sure to be a hit)! Oh yes, upper AND lowercase count. For the minis who are reading, let them look for that sight word they're working on this week. Down the road, you can switch things up and challenge your kiddo to find all the letters of her name or perhaps the entire alphabet. This eensie is perfect for that antsy kiddo waiting for dinner to be ready. They might just get to Z before the tacos hit the table!3.25.2009
