Wow!

What a historic time to live in! Whomever you supported, this is a moment in history all our children will certainly remember. My suggestion, take a moment to write down your experience and while you're at it, why not have the kids do the same? I took a picture of A at the polls and plan to put it in her scrapbook (whenever i get around to making one, lol) with a quick narrative of our experience, including the looong walk home with A pushing her doll stroller and her mama grinning ear to ear at all the folks heading out to vote.

As with any writing we suggest, for the youngest have them draw what they want to "say" and you scribe for them. And let the early experimenters do just that, experiment with words (so put the erasers down!).

Oooh - I wish I had taken a photo! Good idea. My three year old was so excited to be part of the momentum that surrounded the voting area - he was talking about Obama and McCain as if he knew what he was talking about! And since our voting booths in NY are the ancient ones, he got to enjoy pulling the big red lever just as I did with my own parents over 30 years ago.
