Nothing gets a kid more excited than having answers to questions (well, maybe getting Guitar Hero, but that's not going to help us here). Take it from us, kids feel empowered when they know answers and can participate in a conversation confidently. A great way to help your kids feel ready for all the "get-to-know-you" start of the year activities is by practicing at home. Spend some time going over a few of these questions and your lil' munchkin will be ready to tackle all those morning meeting games with confidence!- What is your favorite food? color? animal? book?
- Where do you like to read? write?
- What do you like to do when you're not at school?
- What are some things that are easy for you? hard? (This is such a goodie for kiddos to reflect on!)
- What do you want to get better at this year?
Extra credit: Have your child ask these same questions to friends and family. They can also have fun creating a few questions of their own to add to the mix (wait a minute you just got them to do some writing too, sweet).

Great tip. My little one has already come home with a book of things like this... they did drawings of the things they liked... Also things like: This is me in music class. This is me with my teacher. It was great fun to see the book at the end of the first week. Thanks for the tip. I just thought that this would make a great gift too. Things I like or love about you book! Oh, the ideas!
